Someone found the dog, wrapped in duct tape, in a dumpster. Doctors say, ‘We have never seen anything like it…’

The cruelty that some humans inflict upon animals is horrific. Duct tape was recently discovered wrapped around the whole skull of this unlucky dog.

Despite the horrific scene, the story has a joyful ending:

The Nebraska Humane Society made the terrible news public on April 15. When someone phoned Animal Control to report hearing an animal inside a trash can, she was surprised to learn that it was a dog rather than a raccoon.

The dog was in excellent condition, with his legs shackled and his head and tail completely encased in duct tape. There were also reports of “food and other debris caked in his fur.”

Staff member Kevin Wiederin told KETV, “I have never seen anything like it.” “They taped the entire nose, along with the front and back paws, together.” It was just sitting there with tape over its eyes.”

I felt very horrified. “It was the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen,” he told me. “It is unimaginable to injure any living thing, much less a defenseless small dog, and then discard it like garbage.”

It’s surprising that he was found in time; according to NHS, a vehicle arrived thirty minutes after Animal Control received the information and removed the trash.

The Nebraska Humane Society received the puppy. The staff gave him a sedative before cutting the tape. They had to shave his fur to get rid of all the grime.

The dog experienced minor skin irritation, but they reported on Facebook that he “perked up and was wagging his tail” and was “otherwise healthy and seemed to be in good spirits despite his condition.”

Fortunately, after removing the tape, the crew discovered a microchip. They informed Leo, the dog’s name, that he had disappeared a few days earlier.

Erin Dillon-Pasillas, Leo’s owner, says the dog left the house when she was dropping off her kid at school. Days after missing her pet, she phoned animal shelters in a panic.

“Days became increasingly difficult…” She told KETV there was nothing except crickets. I was trembling when I reached out to her. “Please be my dog,” you tell yourself.
