The beloved KBLA Talk 1580 host and seasoned entertainment journalist Robin Ayers died on December 5 at the age of 44. In a message from Travis Smiley, who called Ayers “a bright light” with a “radiant smile,” the station broke the devastating news. Smiley offered her husband Rob and twin daughters Brooklyn and Madison her condolences while praising her “immense talent,” “jovial spirit,” and “faith in God.”
Ayers was a loving mother who regularly posted on social media about her family’s accomplishments. A few days prior to her death, she posted a sentimental video from her daughters’ 16th birthday on Instagram to commemorate their 18th birthday. “This video aged well,” she wrote. Happy 18th birthday! We’re also having a party! Additionally, the family recently spent Thanksgiving in New York City, making treasured memories in Central Park and Times Square.
Ayers, a well-known personality in entertainment journalism, began her career at EURweb.com before becoming the host of “The RA Report” on KBLA Talk 1580. Ayers made a lasting impression on her audience and colleagues with her captivating interviews and ability to connect with listeners.
“Her passion for storytelling brought depth and authenticity to her work,” said Lee Bailey, the founder of EURweb, in his condolences for her passing. While Ayers’ family asks for privacy during this trying time, KBLA intends to commemorate her legacy soon.
